Patient Background

Ice Hockey Shoulder Injury Treatment Program

Today I am presenting a case of a high school student, varsity ice hockey player, who injured both shoulders. He had abnormal MRIs including labral tears and physical examination of severe shoulder instability with constant clicking, popping, and which caused limited ability to use his arms in physical activity without frequent pain. His ice hockey shoulder injury was was essentially limiting and he was not able to continue his sport.

Shoulder Injury Treatment Program

We put him through a course of treatment for both shoulders using prolotherapy to strengthen the joint capsule and ligament structures. We also used PRP and a specialized amniotic tissue graft for the labral tears.

Positive Patient Outcome

Today the patient comes in today stating that the shoulder injury treatment was successful. He has had no pain in his shoulders since we completed the treatment. He got back to playing ice hockey, and he had such a great year that his coach made him the captain of the team. He was also accepted into college for the ice hockey team. We are so happy that his ice hockey shoulder injury will not hold him back from achieving his goals.

We give this example to demonstrate the powerful and frequently effective methods of regenerative medicine, which, if used properly in the targeted deployment method to resolve what ordinarily would be permanent injuries and functional loss.
