Exosomes are tiny messengers found naturally throughout the body, floating like bubbles between cells. Think of them as powerful couriers that move from one cell to another to improve communication and overall cellular health. Each is encoded with unique data and nutrients. When an exosome encounters another cell, the cell uploads a status update, along with a nutrient payload and instructions for mimicking the young healthy cell that started it all.
Exosomes themselves aren’t new; they’re a vital aspect of our biology. But only recently have scientists figured out how to culture and use them for different purposes. For instance, we are now using them to help regenerate tissue and improve some systemic conditions. Exosomes can be generated from any type of cell in your body. The Exosomes used by Dr. Magaziner are derived from placental MSC (Mesenchymal stem cells) – placentas that have been harvested with permission of the birthing mothers after scheduled C-sections. The mother is put through rigorous blood tests to assure that there are no infectious diseases present, however, there is no fetal material (DNA).
Exosomes for Regenerative Medicine
What is unique about using Exosomes for Regenerative Medicine is that since they come from placental tissue, they are much younger than adult stem cells that you would normally use (for example, a bone marrow or adipose treatment). Adult stem cells aren’t as vibrant as an Exosome type of treatment because you only have about 110 growth factors with adult stem cells versus 800 growth factors with Exosomes. Also, the lower potency of adult stem cells means they are active with their growth factors for 3-7 days versus Exosomes, which are active for 2-3 months.
Exosomes can regenerate tissue in a specific site as well as to treat a systemic/whole body condition(s) (Lyme Disease for instance). Site specific treatments must be used with Pure PRP, as the Pure PRP keeps the healing elements of the Exosomes in the injection(s) site for the specific injury/condition. They are loaded with anti-inflammatory cytokines and interleukins, which can provide almost immediate pain relief. We are successfully using exosomes to treatment a host of muscle and joint conditions such as: knee & hip pain, shoulder and arm pain, neck and back pain, and many other injured regions.
