Bill Nye, Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy and Dancing With The Stars
When people think of dancing the last thing that would usually come to mind is Bill Nye (the science guy). But, with the newest season of Dancing With The Stars on ABC Mr. Bill Nye himself has been an able bodied competitor with the help of Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP) before his performance last night. Nye suffered a knee injury that made him able to continue on with the contest.
USA Today quoted Nye’s conversation with Brook Burke-Charvet in the latest episode of Dancing With The Stars. Bill Said, “The leg feels pretty good because we’ve been working on it. We’ve been icing and the red light, the cool laser, and so it’s pretty good.” Brook went on to ask him about what she considered the “crazy treatment” he had went on this last week for the injury he suffered. He explained that he underwent Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP) treatment which is a process that takes platelets from your blood and then injected them into his tendon which “excites” the cells to bring them around to heal faster then they would normally.
You can catch Bill’s last performance in the video below.
Thank you Mr. Nye for introducing more people to the help you received from PRP therapy.
